10-28-1963 Minutes1 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM Salina, Kansas October 28, 1963 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners October 28, 1963. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Spangler, the roll was called and Commissioners Spangler, Bull, Rundquist and Tucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded. Commissioner Exline absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 21, 1963 were read and approved. Bids were received for the Engineering Department Surburban. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the bid was awarded to Sid Bacon Motor Co. provided the bid meet the specifications. Carried. Twenty days notice up on the rezoning of the following property: Lot 25 on Santa Fe Avenue, Grounds of KWU Addition from District "DD" to District "D". Lots 16, 18, 20 Block 63 Military Addition to District "D". Lots 5, 8, 9, 10 Block 4 Southern Heights Addition to District "D". North 62' Lot 3, Block 1 & N. 2 Lot 6 Block 1 Holiday Addition to District ,'F,t. No protests written or oral. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the rezoning ordinance was introduced for first reading. Carried. i Ordinance Number Passed: l Twenty days notice up on the rezoning.of the following property: Lots 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, Hazelwood Addition to #istrict "DD". Lots 9 & 10 Hazelwood Addition to District "C". On motion of CommissionerRundquist, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the notices were held over for one week & referred back to the City Planning Comission. Carried. Petition number 2723 was filed protesting the rezoning of Lots 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10, Hazelwood Addition. On.motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the petition was referred to the City Planning Commission. Carried. Letter was received from the City Planning Commission requesting that Lot 1, except N. 200' Block 1 Holiday Addition Addition be rezoned to District "D". On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the letter was approved and the City Clerk was instructed to publish notice. Carried. Letter was received from the City Planning Commission regarding petition number 2722 for the rezoning of Lot 3, Block 8 Faith Addition to Dih'trief-ml)". On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the letter was accepted and the City Clerk was instructed to publish notice. Carried. Letter was received from the City Planning Commission regarding petition number 2709 for the rezoning of E. 300' of N. 10' of S. 65' Lot 1, Block 1 Riker Addition to District "DD". On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the letter was approved and the City Clerk was instructed to publish notice. Carried. Appraisers report was filed for Sanitary Sewer Job 443. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the report was accepted and November 18, 1963 was date set for hearing. Carried. Petition number 2720 was checked for paving of 13th Street from Pacific to Broadway; Paving Woodland from 12th to 13th; Paving Pacific from 12th to 13. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the petitions were approved for resolutions. Carried. Petition number 2719 was checked for paving of 2nd Street from Woodland to Pacific. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the petition was approved for resolution. Carried. 1 1 1 Letter was received from the City Manager regarding taxi cab fares. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the letter was referred j to the City Attorney to check up on an Ordinance. Carried. City Engineer filed estimate number 6 on Water Treatment Plati_t - Clem Less Inc. in the amount of $82,307.62. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the estimate was approved. Carried. Concrete Constructinn Bond was filed by Martin Jiminez. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the bond was approved. Carried. Petition number 2724 was filed for the rezoning of the W. 200' S. 669.68' of SW'J of Section 17 Township Fourteen South Range 2 W. of the Sixth P. M. in Saline County, Kansas. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the petition was referred to the City Planning Commission. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull an ordinance was introduced for first reading for the curbing, guttering and paving of certain streets. Carried.
