10-14-1963 Minutesr4 a COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM Salina, Kansas October 14, 1963 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners October 14, 1963. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Spangler, the roll was called and Commissioners Spangler, Bull, Exline, Rundquist and Tucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 7, 1963 were read and approved. Bids were received on Gasoline for the Street Department tanks. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the bid was awarded to Hi -Quality Lo -Cost as low bidder. Carried. Bids were received on the Police Cars. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the bid was awarded to Long -McArthur for $4545.00. Carried. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance authorizing and providing for the issuance of Internal Improvement Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, all in the sum of $803,072.90 to pay the cost of improving certain streets and other improvements in said City to be designated as Series P-195." On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull, Exline, Rundquist and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6742. Carried. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the authorizing the issuance of Improvement Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the sum of $27,803.21 to pay the cost of constructing certain Lateral Sanitary Sewers in the City of Salina, Kansas, which bonds shall be designated as SeriesS-196." On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull, Exline, Rundquist and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6743. Carried. Petition number 2719 was filed for the paving of North 2nd Street from Woodland to Pacific. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the petition was referred to the City Manager. Carried. Petition number 2720 was filed for the curbing, guttering and paving of 13th Street; Woodland from 12th to 13th; Pacific Street from 12th to 13th. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the petition was referred to the City Manager. Carried. Petition number 2721 was filed for the rezoning of Lots 18, 19, 20, Block 7 Shalimar Plaza Addition to District "DD". On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the petition was referred to the City Planning Commission. Carried. Petition number 2722 was filed for the rezoning of Lot 3, Block 9 Replat Faith Addition to Zone "D". On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the petition was referred to the City Planning Commission. harried. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull an ordinance was introduced for second reading' for the contract with S. W. Bell Telephone. Carried. /' 7 Ordinance Passed: ( r=� - /� / � � 6 S Number pJ y q An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance authorizing the issuance of internal improvement bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the amount of $260,000, for the purpose of paying the cost of improvements constituting a part of the flood control system of said city and the damages occasioned by reason thereof, and the cost of right of way constitution a part of said system." On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull, Exline, Rundquist and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6740. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the application was denied. Carried. The First Presbyterian Church - Busch Fund bought perpetual care trust deed. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the deed was approved. Carried. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the ordinance was adopted by section and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull, Exline, Rundquist and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-1192.
