10-07-1963 Minutesr - P COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM Salina, Kansas October 7, 1963 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners October 7, 1963. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Spangler, the roll was called and Commissioners Spangler, Bull, Exline, Rundquist and Tucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 30, 1963 were read and approved. Bids were received on Soil Cement Job 439. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Exline the bid was awarded to L. W. Rexroad & Son as low bidder in the amount of $16,461.55. Engineers Estimate $16,772.00. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the appeal from the Zoning Board of Appeals was approved subject to other provisions regarding posts and water drainage. Carried. A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A resolution relating to the authorization of non-compliance with the Side Yard Requirements, Ted Davis." On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the resolution was approved as read and the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull, Exline, Rundquist and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2743. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the report on the condemnation on Ohio Street - Case 24,371 - was accepted as filed. Carried. A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A resolution abandoning certain tracts of land heretofore condemned by the City of Salina, Kansas by ordinance 6715 for the use of the City of Salina, Kansas in the widening and extension of Ohio Street." On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the resolution was approved as read and the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull, Exline, Rundquist and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2741. Carried. A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A resolution authorizing and directing the City treasurer to deposit with the Clerk of the District Court of Saline County, Kansas, the sum of $8,240.92 in payment of damages assessed by the commissioners in case no. 24,371 now on file in the district court of Saline County, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the resolution was approved as read and the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull, Exline, Rundquist and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2742. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline an_ ordinance was introduced for first reading regarding annual payment by S. W. Bell Telephone Co. Ordinance Passed: C `� ��� i��( 5 Number C^ I On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the agreement with Wilson & Co., Engineers for improvements at the Airport were approved. Carried. City Engineer filed estimate number 1 for street fob 440 - Brown & Brown in the amount of $8,950.22. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissinner Tucker the estimate was approved. Carried. City Engineer filed estimate- final - on street job 429 -- Construction Industries in the amount of $9,007.56. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the estimate was approved. Carried. City Engineer filed final estimate on water main job 432 - Construction Industries in the amount of $4,511.86. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the estimate was approved. Carried. Petition number 2718 was filed for the rezoning of Lots 4, 5, Block 10 Depot Addition from Zone "E" to Zone "F". On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the petition was referred to the City Planning Commission. Carried. 6 On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the Cereal Malt Application filed by Esther Haynes was denied. Carried. _ An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull, Exline, Rundquist and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-1190. Carried. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull, Exline, Rundquist and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-1191.
