RESOLUTION NUMBER 98-5240
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN
AGREEMENT RELATING TO BENEFITS OBTAINABLE BY CITIES UNDER THE
FEDERAL AND STATE AID PROGRAM WITH THE KANSAS DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION FOR INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS; 85 U-1693-01.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and
directed to execute for and on behalf of the City of Salina, Kansas, Agreement
No. 8-98, between the City and the Kansas Department of Transportation,
giving the Secretary of Transportation of the State of Kansas authority to act
for the City, and in its place and stead, to obtain for the City such benefits
as are obtainable under the Kansas Department of Transportation's Federal -aid
STP Safety Program, and obtain the benefits of such legislation for the City
on the terms and conditions set forth in such agreement as may be prepared
and approved by the Secretary of Transportation for the improvement of the
intersection of the intersections of 1) Broadway and South, 2) Ninth and
Claflin, 3) Ninth and Walnut, 4) Ninth and Republic, and 5) Broadway and
Cloud known as Project No. 85 U-1693-01; City Project No. 98-1127.
Section 2. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor
this 9th day of February, 1998.
