Commissioners' Meeting
July 28, 1969
The Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners met in the Commissioners' Room,
City Hall, on Monday, July 28, 1969, at four o'clock p.m.

The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 22, 1969, were approved as mailed.

City Engineer filed Plans and Specifications on New High School Site Improvements
,
Job 512). A motion was made by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Ashton
o accept and approve the Plans and Specifications. Ayes: (5). Nays: (0). Motion
carried.
Mr. Norman Riffel, from Coleman Transfer Company, was present to ask the City
Commissioners to approve fire protection for Fire District No. 4 (South Industrial Area).
This Fire District was approved by the County Commissioners in Resolution No. 514, dated
June 2, 1969. A motion was made by Commissioner Yost, seconded by Commissioner Ashton to
approve the fire protection for Fire District No. 4 and to introduce an ordinance on first
reading that effective September 1, 1969, the annual charge for fire protection furnished
y the City of Salina, Kansas, for any property located outside the limits of said City,
spursuant
to KSA-80-1502, shall be a sum equal to 125'/ of the mill levy required to provide
j
ire protection service within the limits of said City. The mill levy determined on this
jbasis
shall be multiplied by the assessed valuation of said property for which fire protec-
tion is furnished. Thereafter, effective each January 1, the annual charge for said service
hall be adjusted accordingly. Ayes: (5). Nays: (0). Motion carried.

Petition Number 3055 filed by Raymond E. Haggart, Trustee of Jack Leslie Gebhart
and Gary Charles Gebhart Trust No. II, for the rezoning of the 2100 Block on Quincy -Lots 1,
3, 4, 5, 6, Block 6, Meadowlark Acres Addition from District "A" to District "DD"

Office District). A motion was made by Commissioner Caldwell, seconded by Commissioner
Yost to refer the petition to the Salina City Planning Commission. Ayes: (5). Nays: (0),I

A proposal was submitted by Kennedy and Coe for the 1969 Audit. A motion was
ade by Commissioner Yost, seconded by Commissioner Caldwell to accept the proposal.
Ayes: (5). Nays: (0). Motion carried.
Statement No. 5, dated July 15, 1969, Bucher and Willis, for services performed
or the City of Salina, Kansas, in connection with Salina CRP, in the amount of $6,315.66,
as received. A motion was made by Commissioner Ashton, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist
o approve the statement. Ayes: (5). Nays: (0). Motion carried.
On the motion by Commissioner Ashton, the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
