Commissioners' Meeting
March 24, 1969
The Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners met in the Commissioners' Room,
City Hall, on Monday, March 24, 1969, at four o'clock p.m.
There were present:
Mayor William W. Yost, Chairman presiding
Commissioner Charles W. Casebeer
Commissioner Donald D. Millikan
Commissioner G. N. Waddell
comprising a quorum of the Board, also
L. 0. Bengtson, City Attorney
Norris Olson, City Manager
D. L. Harrison, City Clerk
Absent:
Commissioner Carl R. Rundquist
The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 17, 1969, were approved as mailed.
The Mayor proclaimed the week of March 23 through 29, 1969 - "CERTIFIED ENGINEERINGI

TECHNICIANS WEEK".
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE ratifying
and confirming a contract with A. W. Saum & Sons for the construction of certain improvements
in the City of Salina, Kansas, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the,
cost thereof, pending the issuance and sale of bonds." A motion was made by Commissioner
Millikan, seconded by Commissioner Waddell to adopt the ordinance as read and the following
vote was had: Ayes: Yost, Casebeer, Millikan, Waddell (4). Nays: (0). Commissioner
Rundquist absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 8016. Carried. (Job 502)I

Ordinance was introduced for first reading March 17, 1969.
Petition Number 3040 was filed by Marcia Dearing for the Rezoning of Lot 9,
,Block 1, Southern Heights Addition from District "A" to District "DD". A motion was made by
,Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer to refer the petition to the Salina
City Planning Commission. Ayes: (4). Nays: (0). Motion carried.
A Resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A RESOLUTION directing the City
Engineer to prepare a feasibility report relative to the advisability of the installation of
certain curb, gutter and paving within the City of Salina." (East Crawford Street). A
motion was made by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Millikan to adopt the
resolution as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Yost, Casebeer, Millikan, Waddell (4).
Nays: (0). Commissioner Rundquist absent. Mayor approved the Resolution and it is numbered
3024. Carried.
On a motion by Commissioner Waddell, the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
