Yost, Chairman presiding Commissioner Charles W. Casebeer Commissioner Donald D. Millikan Commissioner Carl R. Rundquist comprising a quorum of the Board, also L. 0. Bengtson, City Attorney I Norris Olson, City Manager D. L. Harrison, City Clerk r Absent: s G. N. Waddell { The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 3, 1969, were approved as mailed. The Mayor proclaimed the week of February 17 - 23, 1969 - "HEART WEEK" for the Heart Association. v � The Mayor proclaimed the Month of February, 1969 - "AMERICAN MUSIC MONTH" for the Staccato Notes Music Club. The Mayor proclaimed the Month of February, 1969 - "AMERICAN MUSIC MONTH" for the Treble Clef Music Club. The Mayor proclaimed the week of February 10 - 15, 1969 - "NATIONAL ELECTRICAL WEEK'. The Mayor proclaimed the week of February 10 - 14, 1969 - "NEGRO HISTORY WEEK" for the Salina Branch of NAACP. The Mayor proclaimed the week of February 9 - 15, 1969 - "NATIONAL BEAUTY SALON WEEK". The Mayor, with the assistance of Chief of Police Richardson, presented certificates to seven Recruit Policemen for completing a 100 hour basic classroom police course, plus a firearms course. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE providing for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 6613 and the Zoning District Map therein and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City and prescribing the proper uses thereof". (Rezoning of Lots 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11, Block 3, Pacific Addition from District "A" to District "D" - Petition Number 3024 filed by Donald Tyson on December 2, 1968) A motion was made by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Millikan to approve the ordinance as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Yost, Casebeer, Millikan, Rundquist (4). Nays: (0). Commissioner Waddell absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 8003. Carried. (Ordinance 1st Reading - 1/29/1969) An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with Brown & Brown, Inc. for the construction of certain improvementls in the City of Salina, Kansas, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending the issuance and sale of bonds". (Job 506) A motion was made by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Millikan to approve the ordinance as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Yost, Casebeer, Millikan, Rundquist (4). Nays: (0) Commissioner Waddell absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 8004. Carried. (Ordinance 1st Reading - 2/3/1969) I Petition Number 3032 was filed by James T. Graves on behalf of William H. Graves, Dwight L. Graves, John A. Graves and Lowell P. Graves for the rezoning of Tract # 4 in Section 20, Township 14 South, Range 2 West of the 6th P.M., from District "AA" to District "C". (near the Old Municipal Airport) A motion was made by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer to refer the petition to the Salina City Planning Commission. Ayes: (4). Nays: (0). Motion carried.
