I The Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners met in the Commissioners' Room, City Hall, on Monday, January 6, 1969. There were present: Mayor William W. Yost, Chairman presiding Commissioner Charles W. Casebeer Commissioner Donald D. Millikan Commissioner Carl R. Rundquist Commissioner G. N. Waddell comprising a quorum of the Board, also I L. 0. Bengtson, City Attorney Norris Olson, City Manager j D. L. Harrison, City Clerk j i The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 30, 1968, were approved as mailed. I The City Engineer made a report on Petition 3027 for the paving of 13th Street, from Pacific to Woodland, and reported that there were no signers owning property on the street and recommended the petition be denied. A motion was made by Commissioner Rundquist,! seconded by Commissioner Waddell to accept the City Engineer's recommendation and deny the petition. Ayes: (5). Nays: (0). Motion carried. The City Manager made a report on the Beer License application for 1969 for the Hide -a -way, 540 Willis Avenue, filed by James 0. Bailey, which was tabled at the December 30t!h, meeting. The City Manager reported that it is a Non -conforming use and since they have had licenses in previous years, he recommended the license be approved. A motion was made by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer to approve the license. Ayes: (5). I Nays: (0). License approved. A letter was received from the Salina City Planning Commission concerning Petitionf 3023 for the rezoning of Lot 21 and the West 38 feet of Lot 23, Jewell Avenue, Addition to the Grounds of KWU, to District "B", filed by Raymond Loux on November 29, 1968. The Salina City Planning Commission recommended the approval of the rezoning. A motion was made by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist to accept the Salina City Planning Commission's recommendation and approve the rezoning, and to introduce the rezoning ordinance for first reading. Ayes: (5). Nays: (0). Motion carried. Ordinance Passed: �a,� zo 190 Number: goo I The City Engineer reported on Petition 3028 for the dedication, -of certain land for a street, between US Highway 40 and Dry Creek, filed by H. Hixson on December 11, 1968. The City Engineer recommended the petition be accepted and allow the dedication of the street. A motion was made by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Millikan to accept the City Engineer's recommendation and approve the petition. Ayes: (5). Nays: (0) Motion carried. 1969 Beer License applications were filed for the three Shopeze Food Stores, Inc.:' 2740 Belmont Boulevard, 1009 East Crawford, 1118 West Cloud. A motion was made by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Waddell to approve the licenses. Ayes: (5)' Nays: (0). Licenses approved. 1969 Beer License application for Benton's Club - 308 East North Street, was filed by Bennie Benton, Jr. A motion was made by Commissioner Millikan, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist to approve the license. Ayes: (5). Nays: (0). License approved. 1969 application for License as Surety on Bail Bonds was filed by Ralph Bennett d/b/a B & K Bonding, 645 North Santa Fe Avenue. A motion was made by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Millikan to approve the license. Ayes: (5). Nays: (0). License approved. 1969 application for License as Surety on Bail Bonds was filed by Jack L. Kindlesparger, agent for B & K Bonding, 645 North Santa Fe Avenue.
