A SPECIAL MEETING of the Board of
City -County Building, on Friday, August 31,
of considering uses of Revenue Sharing Funds
There were present:

Commissioners met in the Commissioners' Room,
1973, at three o'clock p.m., for the purpose
and appointments to Boards and Commissions.
Mayor Jack Weisgerber, Chairman presiding
Commissioner Robert C. Caldwell
Commissioner Norma G. Cooper
Commissioner Mike Losik, Jr.
Commissioner W. M. Usher
comprising a quorum of the Board, also:
Norris D. Olson, City Manager
D. L. Harrison, City Clerk
Absent:
L. 0. Bengtson, City Attorney
Mayor Weisgerber made a few comments about the Revenue Sharing Funds, that it
has been well planned to be spent for the general benefit and overall good of the community,
and that the Planned Use Report must be on file in Washington, D.C. by September 14, 1973.
Commissioner Losik commented that the Commission had many requests from various
groups and that they were able to act favorably, within the limits that this money could
be spent, on many of them. He invited other groups to request Revenue Sharing Funds.
A motion was made by Commissioner Usher, seconded by Commissioner Losik that
$558,278.00 of Revenue Sharing Funds be spent as follows:
From 1972 Funds:
1. $34,725.00 Balance of School Crossing Equipment
2. 17,239.00 Fire Department - Station Wagon, Safety Net, Air Compressor
Equipment for trucks - suction valve - flood stand
3. 11,500.00 Police Department - 2 cycles, radar unit, extinguishers
Resuscitators - lights, first aid & protective gear
4. 11,600.00 Park Department - Aerial bucket and truck
5. 12,000.00 Lakewood Park Improvements
6. 7,382.00 Golf Course well (irrigation)

WAIVER AND CONSENT TO HOLD A SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
We, the undersigned, being the duly elected,
qualified and acting Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas, and constituting all the Board of Commissioners
of the City of Salina, Kansas, do hereby waive notice
and consent to the holding of a special meeting of the
Board of Commissioners on the 31st day of August, 1973,
at 3:00 o'clock P.M., for the purpose of considering:
Uses of Revenue Sharing Funds
Appointments to Boards and Commissions
Dated this 31st day of Aug st, 1973
Commissioners
MAYOR WEISGERBER, with the approval of the Commissioners, made the following
appointments:
Metropolitan Planning Commission
Kenneth Rhea, member residing within 3 miles of the corporate limits,
to fill the unexpired term of Dr. Neal Jenkins, to May 1, 1975.
Ronald R. Richmond, appointed to fill the unexpired term of Charles Carroll,
to May 1, 1974.
A MOTION was made by Commissioner Losik, seconded by Commissioner Usher that the
Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners be adjourned. Ayes: (5). Nays: (0). Motion
carried.
