RESOLUTION NUMBER 98-5253
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE
INTERLOCAL AGREEMENTS WITH SALINE COUNTY, U.S.D. 305, SALINA
AIRPORT AUTHORITY AND SALINA LIBRARY BOARD TO FURTHER
NEIGHBORHOOD REVITALIZATION.
WHEREAS, K.S.A. 12-2904 allows public agencies to enter into interlocal
agreements to jointly perform certain functions including economic development; and
WHEREAS, K.S.A. 12-17, 114 et seq. provides a program for neighborhood
revitalization and further allows for the use of interlocal agreements between municipalities to
further neighborhood revitalization; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire and intent of the parties hereto to provide the maximum
economic development incentive as provided for in K.S.A. 12-17, 119 by acting jointly;
SO, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City
of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That on March 16, 1998, the City Commission adopted a Neighborhood
Revitalization Plan providing for tax rebates on the increased assessed value resulting from
property improvements.
Section 2. That the Mayor is authorized to execute interlocal agreements with Saline
County, U.S.D. 305, Salina Airport Authority and Salina Library Board for implementation of the
Neighborhood Revitalization Program.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
adoption.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this 16th day of
March, 1998.
