05-31-1972 MinutesCONSOLIDATED-SALINA 1 WAIVER AND CONSENT TO HOLD A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS We, the undersigned, being the duly elected, qualified and acting Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, and constituting all the Board of Commissioners of said City of Salina, Kansas, do hereby waive notice and consent to the holding of a special meeting of said Board of Commissioners on the 31st day of May, 1972, at 8:00 o'clock A.M., for the purpose of: Adopting an ordinance establishing limits of districts in which bulk storage of liquefied petroleum gases is to be restricted. Adopting an ordinance prohibiting new bulk plants for flammable or combustible liquids, within the City of Salina, Kansas. Adopting an ordinance establishing limits of districts in which storage of flammable liquids in outside aboveground tanks is to be prohibited. Adopting an ordinance establishing the limits of district in which storage of explosives and blasting agents is to be prohibited within the City of Salina, Kansas. Introduce an ordinance for first reading to adopt the Uniform Building Codes Accumulative Supplement, 1972. Dated this 30th day of May, 1972. Commissioners 1 City of Salina, Kansas Commissioners' Meeting May 31, 1972 The Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners met in the Commissioners' Room, City -County Building, Wednesday, May 31, 1972, at 8:00 o'clock A.M., for the purpose of adopting four ordinances amending Sections 12--78, 12--79, 12--80, 12-81 of The Salina Code and to introduce an ordinance for first reading to adopt the Uniform Building Codes Accumulative Supplement, 1972. There were present: Mayor Jack Weisgerber, Chairman presiding Commissioner Leon L. Ashton Commissioner Norma G. Cooper Commissioner Mike Losik, Jr. comprising a quorum of the Board, also: L. 0. Bengtson, City Attorney Norris D. Olson, City Manager D. L. Harrison, City Clerk Absent: Commissioner Robert C. Caldwell. AN ORDINANCE was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE establishing limits of districts in which bulk storage of liquefied petroleum gases is to be restricted." A motion was made by Commissioner Ashton, seconded by Commissioner Losik to adopt the ordinance as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Ashton, Cooper, Losik, Weisgerber (4). Nays: (0). Commissioner Caldwell absent. Carried. The Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 8222, The ordinance was introduced for first reading May 30, 1972. Commissioner Caldwell absent. Carried. The Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 8225. The ordinance was introduced for first reading May 30, 1972. It was called to the attention of the City Commissioners that the "Uniform Building Codes Accumulative Supplement, 1972" must be adopted to satisfy HUD. The City Attorney stated they could introduce an ordinance for first reading today and pass it at the next regular meeting, or the Mayor can declare an emergency and the Commission could introduce and pass it today. Commissioner Losik said he feels the ordinance should be introduced for first reading today and passed at the next regular meeting. He said he doesn't feel an emergency exists. He said he feels a call to HUD would clarify the situation with HUD. A MOTION was made by Commissioner Copper, seconded by Commissioner Ashton to introduce an ordinance for first reading to adopt the "Uniform Building Codes Accumulative Supplement, 1972." Ayes: (4). Nays: (0). Motion carried. Ordinance Passed: t,r t912-- Number: �22C.
