09-23-1974 Minutes51 City of Salina, Kansas Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners September 23, 1974 The Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners met in the Commissioners' Room, City -County Building, on Monday, September 23, 1974, at seven o'clock P.M. The Mayor asked everyone to stand for the pledge of allegiance to the Flag and a moment of silent prayer. There were present: Mayor W. M. Usher, Chairman presiding Commissioner Robert C. Caldwell Commissioner Norma G. Cooper Commissioner Mike Losik, Jr. Commissioner Jack We i sge rbe r comprising a quorum of the Board, also: L. 0. Bengtson, City Attorney Norris D. Olson, City Manager D. L. Harrison, City Clerk Absent: None The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 16, 1974 were approved as printed. THE MAYOR PROCLAIMED - Sunday, September 29, 1974 - "PEANUT BUTTER SUNDAY". The proclamation was read by Bill Melton, representing the Salina Jayce s. STAFF AGENDA THE CITY ENGINEER filed plans and specifications for Engineering Project 74-576 for sewer improvements for APCO and National Bank of America. A motion was made by Commissioner Losik, seconded by Commissioner Caldwell to accep the plans and specifications for Engineering Project 74-576 as filed by the City Engineer, and instruct the City Clerk to publish notice for bids to be received for the improvements on October 7, 1974. Ayes: (4). Nays: (0). Mayor Usher abstained. Motion carried. COMMISSION AGENDA None PUBLIC AGENDA None MISCELLANEOUS AGENDA A MOTION was made by Commissioner Losik, seconded by Commissioner Coope to place on the agenda, the consideration of an interlocal agreement between the City of Salina, and Saline County, regarding an addition to the City -County law enforcement facilities. Ayes: (5). Nays: (0). Motion carried. THE COMMISSIONERS considered an agreement between the City of Salina, Kansas, and the County of Saline, Kansas, regarding an addition to the City - law facilities located at 251-255 North Tenth Street in order County enforcement to provide a separate juvenile detention quarters and an improved booking area. A motion was made by Commissioner Losik, seconded by Commissioner Weisgerber to approve the agreement and authorize the Mayor to sign, with the City of Salina tc be designated as agent for both parties. Ayes: (5). Nays: (0). Motion carried. A MOTION was made by Commissioner Losik, seconded by Commissioner Caldwell that the Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners be adjourned. Ayes: (5).
