Special Meeting of the Board
of Commissioners
September 28, 1977
The Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners met in the Commissione
Room, City -County Building, on Wednesday, September 28, 1977, at 11:30 A.M., for
the purpose of awarding certain contracts for equipment for the Salina Bicentennia
Center.
There were present:
Mayor Keith G. Duckers, Chairman presiding
Commissioner Karen M. Graves
Commissioner Gerald F. Simpson
Commissioner Jack Weisgerber
comprising a quorum of the Board, also:
L. 0. Bengtson, City Attorney
Norris D. Olson, City Manager
D. L. Harrison, City Clerk
Absent:
Commissioner Dan S. Geis
A MOTION was made by Commissioner Simpson, seconded by Commissioner
Weisgerber to award the contract for 12A, Telescoping Platforms to Hussey
Manufacturing Company, in the amount of $135,017.00, with alternate #3, to
provide all aluminun portions of the platform in durable finish, for an additional
$11,878.00, for a total contract of $146,895.00. Ayes: (4). Nays: (0). Motion
carried.
A MOTION was made by Commissioner Simpson, seconded by Commissioner
Weisgerber to award the contract for 12C, Portable Seating, to Krueger Company,
for approximately 1000 model No. 730 chairs @ $27.40, and approximately 2,000
model No. 723 SGA chairs @ $20.72, for a total contract of approximately $68,840.0
Ayes: (4). Nays: (0). Motion carried.
A MOTION was made by Commissioner Simpson, seconded by Commissioner
Graves to reject all bids for 12R, Folding Tables, and to re -bid at a later date.
Ayes: (4). Nays: (0). Motion carried.
A MOTION was made by Commissioner Simpson, seconded by Commissioner
Graves to reject all bids for 12G, Scoreboard, and to authorize the Mayor to
sign an agreement with American Sign Indicator Company, with exclusive rights to
sell the advertising for 90 days. Ayes: (4). Nays: (0). Motion carried.
A MOTION was made by Commissioner Simpson, seconded by Commissioner
Weisgerber that the Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners be adjourned.
Ayes: (4). Nays: (0). Motion carried. The special meeting adjourned at 12:41 P.

WAIVER AND CONSENT TO HOLD A SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
We, the undersigned, being the duly elected, qualified and acting
Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, and constituting a majority of the
Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, do hereby waive notice
and consent to the holding of a special meeting of the Board of Commissioners
on the 28th day of September, 1977, at 11:30 A.M. for the purpose of awarding
certain contracts for equipment for the Salina Bicentennial Center.
