05-03-977 MinutesE 24 5 City of Salina, Kansas Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners May 3, 1977 The Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners met in the Commissions Room, City -County Building, on Tuesday, May 3, 1977, at eleven o'clock a.m., for the purpose of determining the site for the Bicentennial Community Center in Kenwood Park. There were present: Mayor Keith G. Duckers, Chairman presiding Commissioner Karen M. Graves Commissioner Gerald F. Simpson Commissioner Jack Weisgerber comprising a quorum of the Board, also: D. L. Harrison, City Clerk Absent: Commissioner Dan S. Geis L. 0. Bengtson, City Attorney Norris D. Olson, City Manager The Commissioners and architectural representative discussed the different locations for the site of the Bicentennial Community Center, and the advantages and disadvantages of each. A motion was made by Commissioner Simpson, seconded by Commissioner Weisgerber to approve the central park location as the site for the Bicentennial Community Center. [Site Plan Number 3.1 Ayes: Simpson, Weisgerber, Duckers (3). Nays: Graves (1). Motion carried. Commissioner Weisgerber asked that the architect also consider minor adjustments in the proposed location to give it the best possible aesthetic setting in that general location. A MOTION was made by Commissioner Simpson, seconded by Commissioner Weisgerber that the Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners be adjourned. Ayes: (4). Nays: (0). Motion carried. D. L. Harrison, City Clerk -s' 1 1 1 it WAIVER AND CONSENT TO HOLD A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS We, the undersigned, being the duly elected, qualified and acting Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, and constituting a majority of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, do hereby waive notice and consent to the holding of a special meeting of the Board of Commissioners on the 3rd day of May, 1977, at 11:00 A.M. for the purpose of determining the site plan for the Bicentennial Community Center in Kenwood Park.
