RESOLUTION NUMBER 98-5288
A RESOLUTION CONCURRING WITH THE AWARD OF CONTRACT AND
FEDERAL AID AUTHORITY TO AWARD CONTRACT COMMITMENT OF CITY
FUNDS BY THE KANSAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE 1998
TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION PROJECT NO. 85 U-1693-01 STP -U169(301).
Whereas, bids were received at Topeka, Kansas, on May 20, 1998, for the
of work covered by plans on the above numbered project; and
Whereas, the bidder and the low bid on work covered by this project was submitted
by Kayton Electric, Inc., P.O. Box 27, Holdrege, NE 68949-0027, in the amount of $ 303,728.50;
and
Whereas, this bid is considered satisfactory and has been recommended by the
Secretary of Transportation of the State of Kansas, for consideration and acceptance by the City,
SO NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That after due consideration by the City Council, this bid is acceptable and
said Secretary of Transportation is hereby authorized to award and execute the necessary contracts
for completion of the work on this project as covered by such bid.

Section 2. That City funds in the amounts of $ 33,490.09 for the matching of federal
funds and $ 0 for non -participating items, for a total of $33,490.09, are required to complete this
work, and are hereby pledged by the City to be remitted to the Chief of Fiscal Services of the
Kansas Department of Transportation on or before June 20, 1998, for use by the Secretary of
Transportation of the State of Kansas, in making payments for construction work and engineering
Ion the above designated project.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
adoption.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this 15th day of
June, 1998.
