November 14, 1977
The Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners met in the Commissioners'
Room, City -County Building, on Monday, November 14, 1977, at four o'clock P.M. '
The Mayor asked everyone to stand for the opening ceremony.
There were present:
Acting Mayor Jack Weisgerber, Chairman presiding
Commissioner Dan S. Geis
Commissioner Karen M. Graves
Commissioner Gerald F. Simpson
comprising a quorum of the Board, also:
Norris D. Olson, City Manager
W. E. Harris, Acting City Clerk
Absent:
Mayor Keith G. Duckers
L. 0. Bengtson, City Attorney
D. L. Harrison, City Clerk
THE ACTING MAYOR PROCLAIMED the week of November 14 through 20, 1977 -
"YOUTH APPRECIATION WEEK IN SALINA, KANSAS". The proclamation was read by Don
Rectenwald, Vice President of the Optimist Club.

A motion was made by Commissioner Geis, seconded by Commissioner
Graves to award the contract to Harbin Construction, Inc., in the amount of
$164,900.00, and alternate #2 in the amount of $1,400.00. Ayes: (4). Nays:
j (0). Motion carried.
AN ORDINANCE was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE
annexing certain land to the City of Salina, Kansas, in conformity with the
provisions of K.S.A. 12-519 to 12-526, inclusive." (Annexation of a part of
Mayfair Addition, requested in Petition Number 3657, filed by Douglas Hill) A
motion was made by Commissioner Simpson, seconded by Commissioner Geis to adopt
the ordinance as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Geis, Graves,
Simpson, Weisgerber (4). Nays: (0). Carried. The Mayor approved the ordinance
and it is numbered 8606. The ordinance was introduced for first reading
November 7, 1977.

A MOTION was made by Commissioner Simpson, seconded by Commissioner
Graves that the Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners be adjourned.
Ayes: (4). Nays: (0). Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 4:11 P.M.
