The Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners met in the Commission Meeting Room, City -County Building, on Monday, June 8, 1981, at four o'clock p.m. comprising a quorum of the Board, also present: L. 0. Bengtson, City Attorney D. L. Harrison, City Clerk Rufus L. Nye, City Manager Absent: None CITIZEN FORUM None AWARDS - PROCLAMATIONS None PUBLIC HEARINGS AND ITEMS SCHEDULED FOR A CERTAIN TIME None CONSENT AGENDA (6.1) Approve the Minutes of the Regular Meeting June 1, 1981. (6.2) Resolution Number 81-3548 - determining the advisability of curbing, guttering, paving, grading and storm sewer drainage improvements, estimating the cost thereof, defining the boundaries of the improvement district, method of assessment, and apportioning the cost between the improvement district and the city -at -large. (6.3) Cereal malt beverage license applications filed by Stephan Oil Company, Inc., for 1118 North 9th, 547 West Cloud, and 418 East Iron Avenue. 81-134II Moved by Commissioner Roth, seconded by Commissioner Burgess, that all items on the Consent Agenda be approved. DEVELOPMENT BUSINESS None ADMINISTRATION (8.1) Second Reading Ordinance Number 81-8851 - providing for the amendment of Section 36-606 of the Salina Code, and repealing the existing section. 81-135 Moved by Commissioner Graves, seconded by Commissioner Duckers that Ordinance Number 81-8851, providing for the amendment of Section 36-606 of the Salina Code, and repealing the existing section, be adopted. (Fairdale Road and Ray Avenue). 81-136 Moved by Commissioner Roth, seconded by Commissioner Duckers that Ordinance Number 81-8852 be tabled because of a discrepancy in the location of the sidewalk to be installed on Fairdale Road. Aye: (5). Nay: (0). Motion adopted. The City Clerk referred to the original petition and determined that the west side of Fairdale is correct, and not the east side. 81-137 Moved by Commissioner Duckers, seconded by Commissioner Graves, that Ordinance Number 81-8852 be removed from the table for consideration. Aye: (5). Nay: (0). Motion adopted. 81-138 Moved by Commissioner Graves, seconded by Commissioner Burgess, that Ordinance Number 81-8852 providing for the construction of certain sidewalks, for the payment of the cost thereof, and how the same shall be assessed and the manner of the payment therefor, be introduced for first reading, with the location of the sidewalk on Fairdale Road to be corrected to the west side of the street. Aye: (5). Nay: (0). Motion adopted. (6.3) Request for $600,000 Industrial Revenue Bonds, filed by Larson Building Center, Inc. 81-139 Moved by Commissioner Graves, seconded by Commissioner Burgess that the Commission recess into executive session for 20 minutes to discuss the possible issuance of Industrial Revenue Bonds. Aye: (5). Nay: (0). Motion adopted. The Commission recessed at 4:06 p.m. and reconvened at 4:20 p.m. 81-140 Moved by Commissioner Burgess, seconded by Commissioner Graves that the City Clerk be instructed to publish a notice of intent to issue $600,000 Industria Revenue Bonds for Larson Building Center, Inc., and set the hearing date of June 15, 1981.
