The Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners met in the City Commission
Meeting Room, City -County Building, on Monday, June 16, 1980, at four o'clock
P.M.
There were present:

CONSENT AGENDA
(6.1) Approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting June 9, 1980.
(6.2) City Engineer files Plans and Specifications for street sealing projects
[Engineering Project 80-665 Machine Laid Seal and 80-666 Slurry Seal] Set the
date of June 26, 1980 to receive bids.
(6.3) Recommendation by the City Engineer to approve Petition Number 3786,
filed by Asbury Hospital to make the west side of the 400 Block of South Santa Fe
from South Street to the Asbury Hospital Emergency Driveway a loading and unloadin
passenger zone only from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and the section of street directly in
front of the hospital entrance on Santa Fe a No Parking Zone.
80-169 Moved by Commissioner Graves, seconded by Commissioner Hodges that all
items on the consent agenda be approved. Aye: (5). Nay: (0). Motion adopted.
DEVELOPMENT BUSINESS
(7.1) Recommendation from the City Planning Commission to approve Zoning
Application 80-7, filed by the City Planning Commission, to amend Section 36-503,
permitted obstructions in required yards, concerning fences on corner lots.
80-170 Moved by Commissioner Allen, seconded by Commissioner Duckers that the
recommendation of the City Planning Commission be accepted and that Ordinance
Number 80-8795, providing for the amendment of Section 36-503 of Zoning Ordinance
8526, the same being Chapter 36 of the Salina Code, and repealing the existing
section, be introduced for first reading. Aye: (5). Nay: (0). Motion adopted.

ADMINISTRATION
(8.1) Second Reading Ordinance Number 80-8785, providing for the amendment of
Zoning Ordinance 8526. [Zoning application 80-4, filed by John W. Mize for the
rezoning of property in the Northeast Quarter of Section 35, Township 13 South,
Range 3 West. Ordinance was introduced for first reading April 14, 1980.]
80-171 Moved by Commissioner Hodges, seconded by Commissioner Duckers that
Ordinance Number 80-8785, providing for the amendment of Ordinance Number 8526,
the same being Chapter 36 of the Salina Code, and the Zoning District Map therein
and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the
City and prescribing the proper uses thereof, be adopted. Aye: Allen, Duckers,
Graves, Hodges, Geis (5). Nay: (0). Motion adopted.
(8.2) Resolution Number 80-3492, establishing Gypsum Hill Cemetery charges.
80-172 Moved by Commissioner Duckers, seconded by Commissioner Allen that
Resolution Number 80-3492, establishing certain charges for the operation of and
the sale of lots in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery, amending Resolution Number 3210 and
repealing the existing Resolution, be adopted. Aye: (5). Nay: (0). Motion
adopted.
OTHER BUSINESS
The Mayor, with the approval of the Board of Commissioners made the
following appointments:
Board of Plumbing Appeals
Bill Gray, Journeyman Plumber, reappointed for a 2 year term to June 24, 1982.
Board of Zoning Appeals
Glorine Shelton, City Planning Commission Representative, appointed to succeed
Norman Yenkey, for a 3 year term to May 3, 1983.
80-173 Moved by Commissioner Hodges, seconded by Commissioner Duckers that the
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners be adjourned. Aye: (5). Nay: (0).
