The special meeting of the Salina Public Library Board was held at 7:00 a.m.
on Friday, May 14,2004. The following Board members were present: Cheryl
Mason, Sheldon Lilak, David Hawksworth, Janice Ostrom, Lynne Ryan, Betsy
Scholten and Tom Arpke. Others present were David Clouston of the Salina
Journal, Joe McKenzie and Cynthia Smull.
Lynne Ryan Board President called the meeting to order. Lynne called for
discussion on the Tech Center bids.
Joe McKenzie said that the architects were pleased with the number of
contractors bidding on the project. Janice Ostrom asked about the staging issues.
The Board discussed the staging issues along with various aspects of the project.
The main subs Standard Mechanical and DRCL for this project worked on
the last project so they know the building well.
04-14 On a motion made by Janice Ostrom and seconded by Betsy Scholten it was
RESOLVED THAT: The Board of Trustees of the Salina Public Library
approves the award of the Tech Center Project to the low bidder Medina
Construction for the amount of $997,900.00. Motion passed. 5/14/04. P. 764.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the Board, the
meeting was adjourned.
04-15 On a motion made by Sheldon Lilak and seconded by David Hawksworth it
was RESOLVED THAT: The Board of Trustees of the Salina Public
Library adjourns the May 14th meeting. Motion passed.
