08-27-1979 Minutesj City of Salina, Kansas Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners August 27, 1979 The Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners met in the City Commission Meeting Room, City -County Building, on Monday, August 27, 1979, at four o'clock p.m. There were present: Mayor Karen M. Graves, Chairman presiding Commissioner Roy W. Allen Commissioner Dan S. Geis Commissioner Merle A. Hodges comprising a quorum of the Board, also: L. 0. Bengtson, City Attorney D. L. Harrison, City Clerk Rufus L. Nye, City Manager Absent: Commissioner Keith G. Duckers AWARDS - PROCLAMATIONS THE MAYOR PROCLAIMED Thursday, September 6, 1979 - "1st ANNUAL BLUE BLITZ DAY". Moved by Commissioner Geis, seconded by Commissioner Hodges that Ordinance Number 8739, providing for the amendment of Ordinance Number 8526, the same being Chapter 36 of the Salina Code, and the Zoning District Map therein and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City and prescribing the proper uses thereof, for the rezoning of Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, Block 1, Replat of Edgemere Addition from C-1 to C-5, requested in Zoning Application 79-13, filed by Roberta Kaufman, be adopted. Moved by Commissioner Allen, seconded by Commissioner Hodges to accept the recommendation of the Building Code Advisory Board to adopt the 1979 Editions of the Uniform Building Code, Uniform Plumbing Code, Uniform Mechanical Code, Uniform Sign Code, and the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, and to repeal or modify certain section of Chapter 9 of the Salina Code to bring them into compliance with the new building codes.
