04-09-1984 MinutesCITY OF SALINA, KANSAS REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS APRIL 9, 1984 4:00 p.m. The Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners met in the Commission Meeting Room, City -County Building, on Monday, April 9, 1984, at four p.m. There were present: Mayor John F. Burgess, Chairman presiding Commissioner Fortino B. Bonilla Commissioner Merle A. Hodges Commissioner Charles B. Roth Commissioner Joseph M. Ritter comprising a quorum of the Board, also present: L. 0. Bengtson, City Attorney D. L. Harrison, City Clerk Rufus L. Nye, City Manager Absent: None CITIZEN FORUM None PUBLIC HEARINGS AND ITEMS SCHEDULED FOR A CERTAIN TIME None CONSENT AGENDA (6.1) Approved the Minutes of the Regular Meeting April 2, 1984. (6.2) Resolution Number 84-3707 - authorizing certain curbing, guttering, paving, grading, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main and service improvements in the Replat of Faith Addition. [Requested in Petition Number 3867 filed by Robert Gile] (6.3) Resolution Number 84-3708 - authorizing the Secretary of Transportation to award the contract on Project 85 U-0295-03. [Crawford Street improvements from Marymount Road to East City Limits] (6.4) Petition Number 3869 - filed by Daryl Davis for a stop sign to be installed at the intersection of Pacific and 12th. DEVELOPMENT BUSINESS None ADMINISTRATION (8.1) Second Reading Ordinance Number 84-9011 - providing for the vacation of a portion of a certain utility easement in Valley View Addition to the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas. 84-96 Moved by Commissioner Bonilla, seconded by Commissioner Hodges that Ordinance Number 84-9011, providing for the vacation of a portion of a certain utility easement in Valley View Addition to the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas, be adopted. Aye: Bonilla, Hodges, Roth, Burgess (4). Nay: (0). Commissioner Ritter abstained. Motion adopted. "i o (8.2) Second Reading Ordinance Number 84-9016 - providing for the rezoning of Lot 13, Block 3, Van Trine Addition to District R-3, Multiple Family Residential District. [Zoning Application 84-3] 84-97 Moved by Commissioner Ritter, seconded by Commissioner Hodges that Ordinance Number 84-9016, providing for the amendment of Ordinance Number 8526, the same being Chapter 42 of the Salina Code, and the Zoning District Map therein and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the city and prescribing the proper uses thereof, be adopted. (8.3) Second Reading Ordinance Number 84-9017 - providing for the payment of interest on security deposits made with the water department; amending Section 41-24 of the Salina Code and repealing the existing section. 84-98 Moved by Commissioner Roth, seconded by Commissioner Ritter that Ordinance Number 84-9017, providing for the payment of interest on security deposits made with the water department; amending Section 41-24 of the Salina Code and repealing the existing section, be adopted. (8.4) Second Reading Ordinance Number 84-9018 - ordering the condemnation and appropriation of certain land in Saline County, Kansas, for making improvements to the intersection of Broadway Boulevard and State Street, all as authorized by K.S.A. 13-1023 and K.S.A. 26-201, and pursuant to the Eminent Domain Procedure Act, K.S.A. Chapter 26, Article 5, and amendments thereto, as the same relates to condemnation by cities and further pursuant to Resolution Number 84-3700 of the City of Salina, Kansas. 84-99 Moved by Commissioner Ritter, seconded by Commissioner Hodges that Ordinance Number 84-9018, ordering the condemnation and appropriation of certain land in Saline County, Kansas, for making improvements to the intersection of Broadway Boulevard and State Street, all as authorized by K.S.A. 13-1023 and K.S.A. 26-201, and pursuant to the Eminent Domain Procedure Act, K.S.A.
