The Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners met in the Commission Meeting
Room, City -County Building, on Monday, April 4, 1983, at four o'clock p.m.
There were present:

AWARDS - PROCLAMATIONS
(4.1) The Mayor proclaimed the week of April 3 through 9, 1983 - "WEEK OF
THE YOUNG CHILD". The proclamation was read by Marilyn Ericson, Local
Chairperson of the Kansas Association for the Education of Young Children.

(8.2) Second Reading Ordinance Number 83-8959 - authorizing and directing
the issuance, sale and delivery of $820,000 principal amount of Internal
Improvement Bonds, Series P-229.
83-53 Moved by Commissioner Roth, seconded by Commissioner Graves that
Ordinance Number 83-8959, authorizing and directing the issuance, sale and
delivery of $820,000 principal amount of Internal Improvement Bonds, Series
P-229 of the City of Salina, Kansas, for the purpose of providing funds to pay
the cost of construction of storm sewers, water mains, sanitary sewers, street
and drainage canal improvements; prescribing the form and details of said bonds;
and providing for the levy and collection of the necessary assessments and taxes
for the purpose of paying the principal of and interest on said bonds as the
same become due, be adopted. Aye: Graves, Roth, Burgess (3). Nay: (0).
Commissioner Hodges and Mayor Duckers absent. Motion adopted.
(8.3) First Reading Ordinance Number 83-8960 - naming a street and
describing its location within the city limits of Salina, Kansas. (Markley Road)

Ordinance Number 83-8960, naming a street and describing its location within the
City limits of Salina, Kansas (Markley Road), be introduced for first reading.
