01-17-1983 Minutes12 CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS JANUARY 17, 1983 4:00 p.m. The Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners met in the Commission Room, City -County Building, on Monday, January 17, 1983, at four o'clock p.m. There were present: Mayor Keith G. Duckers, Chairman presiding Commissioner Karen M. Graves Commissioner Merle A. Hodges Commissioner Charles B. Roth comprising a quorum of the Board, also present: L. 0. Bengtson, City Attorney D. L. Harrison, City Clerk Rufus L. Nye, City Manager Absent: Commissioner John F. Burgess CITIZEN FORUM None AWARDS - PROCLAMATIONS (4.1) The Mayor proclaimed the Week of January 16 - 22, 1983 - "UNITED STATES JAYCEE WEEK". The proclamation will be read by Brenda Smith, President of the Jaycee Jaynes. PUBLIC HEARINGS AND ITEMS SCHEDULED FOR A CERTAIN TIME None CONSENT AGENDA (6.1) Approve the Minutes of the Regular Meeting January 10, 1983. (6.2) Cereal malt beverage license application filed by C. E. Davis, d/b/a La Cocina Mexican Food, 1409 West Crawford. 83-12 Moved by Commissioner Hodges, seconded by Commissioner Graves that all items on the Consent Agenda be approved. Aye: (4). Nay: (0). Motion adopted. DEVELOPMENT BUSINESS (7.1) Recommendation from the City Planning Commission that Zoning Application 82-15, filed by Star B., Inc., requesting an amendment of Sections 42-252, 42-267, 42-282, 42-302, 42-317, 42-332 of the Salina Code, be approved. 83-13 Moved by Commissioner Graves, seconded by Commissioner Roth that the recommendation of the City Planning Commission be accepted and that Ordinance Number 83-8954, providing that Group Day Care centers may be allowed as permitted uses in certain districts and amending Sections 42-252, 42-267, 42-282, 42-302, 42-317, 42-332 of the Salina Code be introduced for first reading. Aye: (4). Nay: (0). Motion adopted. ADMINISTRATION (8.1) Second Reading Ordinance Number 83-8953 - providing for the vacation of a portion of Seventh Street, a public street in the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas. 83-14 Moved by Commissioner Roth, seconded by Commissioner Hodges that Ordinance Number 83-8953, providing for the vacation of a portion of Seventh Street, a public street in the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas, be adopted. Aye: Graves, Hodges, Roth, Duckers (4). Nay: (0). Commissioner Burgess absent. Motion adopted. 83-15 83-16 1 1 .2) Resolution Number 83-3630 authorizing and establishing certain charges 8 8.the operation of the Salina Municipal Golf Course, amending Resolution Number 0-3499 and repealing the original resolution. Moved by Commissioner Hodges, seconded by Commissioner Graves that :onsideration of this Resolution be postponed until February 7, 1983. Aye: Grave lodges, Duckers (3). Nay: Roth (1). Motion adopted.
