98-5324 Agr EmploymentRESOLUTION NUMBER 98-5324 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS, AND THE CITY MANAGER AND APPROVING THE COMPENSATION RELATED ASPECTS OF THE PROPOSED MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF SALINA AND THE DEPUTY CITY MANAGER. WHEREAS, the City of Salina ("City") and the City Manager, are parties to an Employment Agreement dated January 10, 1998 (the "Employment Agreement") and an — Amendment to Employment Agreement dated December 19, 1994 (the "First Amendment to Employment Agreement"); and WHEREAS, the City and the City Manager wish to further amend Section 11 of the Employment Agreement relating to retirement benefits; and WHEREAS, the City Manager intends to execute a Memorandum of Understanding between the City and the Deputy City Manager, including compensation related matters warranting consideration by the governing body; SO NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. The Mayor is authorized to execute the Second Amendment to Employment Agreement between the City and the City Manager, which by its terms is effective October 1, 1998. Section 2. The following compensation and retirement benefit components of a proposed Memorandum of Understanding between the City and the Deputy City Manager, to be effective October 1, 1998, are approved.- a. pproved: adoption. a. Base compensation - $69,970 annually b. ICMA deferred compensation - $2,800 annually C. KPERS - City payment on behalf of employee of all KPERS determined costs at the 1.75% benefit level, for purchase of employee's eligible prior out of state service, not to exceed six (6) years. Section 3. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this 17th day of August, 1998.
