The Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners met in the Commission Meeting
Room, City -County Building, on Monday, August 23, 1982, at four o'clock p.m.
There were present:
Mayor Keith G. Duckers, Chairman presiding
Commissioner John F. Burgess
Commissioner Charles B. Roth
comprising a quorum of the Board, also present:

AWARDS - PROCLAMATIONS
(4.1) The Mayor proclaimed the Week of September 1 through 7, 1982 - "NATIONAL
BOWLING WEEK IN SALINA". The proclamation was read by Jean Loucks, All Star
Lanes and Secretary of the local W.I.B.C.
(4.2) The Mayor proclaimed the Week of August 30 through September 5, 1982 -
''SALINA CHARITY HORSE SHOW WEEK". The proclamation was read by Commissioner
John Burgess.
(4.3) The Mayor proclaimed August 28, 1982 - "UNITED PARCEL SERVICE 75th
ANNIVERSARY". The proclamation was read by Tim Rodgers.

PUBLIC HEARINGS AND ITEMS SCHEDULED FOR A CERTAIN TIME
CONSENT AGENDA
(6.1) Approve the Minutes of the Regular Meeting August 16, 1982.
(6.2) The City Engineer filed plans and specifications for Engineering
Project 82-693 for slurry seal improvements. (Set the date of September 2, 1982
to receive bids.)
(6.3) Recommendation from the City Engineer that a request from Frank Norton,
for certain traffic control revisions in the Schilling Subdivision be approved.
Resolution Number 82-3607 - authorizing the installation and marking of both
sides of Jumper Road from the west line of Centennial Road to the east line
of Arnold Avenue, as a No Parking Zone.
(6.4) Resolution Number 82-3608 - concerning street right-of-way on East
Crawford Street.
82-184 Moved by Commissioner Roth, seconded by Commissioner Burgess that all
items on the consent agenda be approved. Aye: Burgess, Roth, Duckers (3). Nay:
(0). Motion adopted.

DEVELOPMENT BUSINESS
(7.1) Recommendation from the City Planning Commission that Zoning Application
82-6, filed by Rosalie Leek for the rezoning of Lot 25, Block 2, Replat of Blocks
1 and 2, Evergreen Park Addition to the City of Salina, be approved.
82-185 Moved by Commissioner Burgess, seconded by Commissioner Roth that the
recommendation from the City Planning Commission be approved, and that Ordinance
Number 82-8936, for the rezoning of Lot 25, Block 2, Replat of Blocks 1 and 2,
Evergreen Park Addition to the City of Salina, Saline County, be introduced for
first reading. Aye: (3). Nay: (0). Motion adopted.
