06-09-1982 MinutesIre CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS JUNE 9, 1982 12:30 P.M. The Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners met in the Commission Meeting Room, City -County Building, on Wednesday, June 9, 1982, at twelve thirty o'clock p.m. for the purpose of consideration and voting upon the following: (1) Reconsideration of the "Second Reading of Ordinance Number 82-8910 which provides for levying a city gross earnings tax on intangibles for the year 1982". (2) Consideration of a request from Kinder -Care Learning Centers, Inc. for $350,000 Revenue Bonds. There were present: Mayor Keith G. Duckers, Chairman presiding Commissioner John F. Burgess Commissioner Karen M. Graves Commissioner Merle A. Hodges comprising a quorum of the Board, also present: L. 0. Bengtson, City Attorney D. L. Harrison, City Clerk Rufus L. Nye, City Manager Absent: Commissioner Charles B. Roth 82-93 Moved by Commissioner Hodges, seconded by Commissioner Burgess that Ordinance Number 82-8910 be reconsidered. Aye: (4). Nay: (0). Motion adopted. (1) Reconsideration of the "Second Reading of Ordinance Number 82-8910 which provides for levying a city gross earnings tax on intangibles for the year 1982. 82-94 Moved by Commissioner Hodges, seconded by Commissioner Graves that Ordinance Number 82-8910 levying a city gross earnings tax on intangibles for the year 1982, be adopted. Aye: Graves, Hodges, Duckers (3). Nay: Burgess (1). Commissi Roth absent. Motion adopted. (2) Consideration of a request from Kinder -Care Learning Centers, Inc. for $350,000 Revenue Bonds. 82-95 Moved by Commissioner Hodges, seconded by Commissioner Graves that the City Clerk be instructed to publish a notice of intention to issue $350,000 Industrial Revenue Bonds for Kinder -Care Learning Centers, Inc. setting Monday, June 14, 1982 at 4:00 P.M. for public hearing. Aye: (4). Nay: (0). Motion adopted. 82-96 Moved by Commissioner Hodges, seconded by Commissioner Graves that the Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners be adjourned. Aye: (4). Nay: (0).
