02-08-1982 Minutes12 CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FEBRUARY 8, 1982 4:00 p.m. The Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners met in the Commission Meeting Room, City -County Building, on Monday, February 8, 1982, at four o'clock p.m. There were present: Mayor Merle A. Hodges, Chairman presiding Commissioner John F. Burgess Commissioner Keith G. Duckers Commissioner Karen M. Graves comprising a quorum of the Board, also present: D. L. Harrison, City Clerk Rufus L. Nye, City Manager Absent: Commissioner Charles B. Roth L. 0. Bengtson, City Attorney None CITIZEN FORUM AWARDS - PROCLAMATIONS (4.1) The Mayor proclaimed the Month of February, 1982 - "NATIONAL MUSIC MONTH". The proclamation was read by Wilma Baldwin, Secretary of the Staccato Notes Music Club. (4.2) The Mayor proclaimed the Week of February 7 through 13, 1982 - "UNITED STATES JAYCEETTE WEEK". The proclamation was read by Edith Herpich, Editor. (4.3) The Mayor proclaimed Sunday, February 14, 1982 - "WE BELIEVE IN MARRIAGE DAY". The proclamation was read by Bob and Billie Blair, and Jerry and Tillie Brin, Information Coordinators for Marriage Encounter. (4.4) The Mayor proclaimed the Week of February 7 through 13, 1982 - "OFFICE EDUCATION WEEK". The proclamation was read by Tina Nelson, Vice-president of Office Education Association. (4.5) The Mayor proclaimed the Week of February 21 through 27, 1982 - "ENGINEERS' WEEK". The proclamation was read by Lawrence Wetter, President of the Smoky Valley Chapter of the Kansas Engineering Society. (4.6) The Mayor proclaimed the Week of February 14 through 20, 1982 - "CATHOLI SCHOOLS WEEK". The proclamation was read by Tom Meagher, Music Teacher at St. Mary's School. (4.7) The Mayor proclaimed Monday, February 15, 1982 - "CORDIA WESSON DAY" The proclamation was read by Maryland Parker. PUBLIC HEARINGS AND ITEMS SCHEDULED FOR A CERTAIN TIME None 13 CONSENT AGENDA (6.1) Approve the minutes of the regular meeting February 1, 1982. (6.2) City Engineer filed a feasibility report for street and utility improvements in the Replat of Lakewood Addition. (Improvements were requested in Petition Number 3828, filed by Max Bishop) (7.1) City Planning Commission recommends the approval of Zoning Application 81-20, filed by Development Consultants, Inc., for the rezoning of Lots 183, 185, 187 on 5th Street, Original Townsite, from District "C-3" to District "C-4" (Central Business District). 82-21 Moved by Commissioner Graves, seconded by Commissioner Duckers that the recommendation of the City Planning Commission be accepted and that Ordinance Number 82-8897, providing for the amendment of Ordinance Number 8526, the same being Chapter 36 of the Salina Code, and the Zoning District Map therein and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the city and prescribing the proper uses thereof, be introduced for first reading. Hill for the vacation of a utility easement abutting Lots 9 and 10, Block 9, Mayfair Addition. (6.5) Urban Renewal Application 82-1, filed by Q. A. Applequist, requesting approval of the final development plan for Lots 1 and 2, Block 4, Northeast Industrial Park. 82-20 Moved by Commissioner Burgess, seconded by Commissioner Duckers that items on the consent agenda be approved. Aye: (4). Nay: (0). Motion ,all adopted.
