01-11-1982 Minutes3 CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS JANUARY 11, 1982 4:00 p.m. The Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners met in the Commission Meeting Room, City -County Building, on Monday, January 11, 1982, at four o'clock p.m. There were present: Mayor Merle A. Hodges, Chairman presiding Commissioner John F. Burgess Commissioner Keith G. Duckers Commissioner Karen M. Graves Commissioner Charles B. Roth comprising a quorum of the Board, also present: L. 0. Bengtson, City Attorney D. L. Harrison, City Clerk Rufus L. Nye, City Manager Absent: None CITIZEN FORUM None AWARDS - PROCLAMATIONS The Mayor proclaimed January 15, 1982 - "DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. COMMERATION DAY". The proclamation was read by Rev. J. E. Jones. PUBLIC HEARINGS AND ITEMS SCHEDULED FOR A CERTAIN TIME None CONSENT AGENDA (6.1) Approve the Minutes of the Regular Meeting January 4, 1982. (6.2) Tree Trimming and Treating license applications for 1982. (6.3) Surety on Bail Bond license applications for 1982. 81-5IIMoved by Commissioner Burgess, seconded by Commissioner Roth that all items on the consent agenda be approved. Aye: (5). Nay: (0). Motion adopted. None DEVELOPMENT BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (8.1) Report by Commissioner Roth on the parking problem in the ShowBiz Pizza area. [Action was postponed at the December 14, 1981 meeting.] Commissioner Roth said Bob St. Peter, Manager of ShowBiz Pizza, and Mike Schumacher are present to answer any questions. Mr. St.Peter said they have 80 parking spaces and about 12 employees who drive cars to work. He said they feel their business is down to normal and parking will no longer be a problem. Mike Schumacher said the parking has improved and is willing to leave the parking as it is for now, but might want to petition again, if it becomes a problem. [The Commissioners took no action.] ME 82-7 1 �# I (8.2) City Engineer reports on the sufficiency of Petition Number 3827, filed by Douglas G. Hill, for street and storm sewer improvements on Linden Drive, Sherwood Lane, Huntington Road and Bentley Avenue in Mayfair Addition. [Action was postponed at the January 4, 1982 meeting.] Moved by Commissioner Duckers, seconded by Commissioner Graves that Petition Number 3827 for street and storm sewer improvements in Mayfair Addition be tabled. Aye: (5)• Nay: (0), Motion adopted. Moved by Commissioner Burgess, seconded by Commissioner Duckers that the Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners be adjourned. Aye: (5)• Nay: (0).
