ORDINANCE NUMBER 19-11017
AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAME OF A STREET IN THE INTERSTATE
DISTRICT SOUTHWEST OF 1-70 ADDITION TO THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS.
WHEREAS, the final plat of the Interstate District Southwest of 1-70 Addition was approved on
November 6, 1973 and recorded on November 13, 1973; and
y WHEREAS, on October 18, 1982 the governing body of the City of Salina approved Ordinance No.
82-8939 naming a former Kansas Highway Commission frontage road abutting the Interstate District
Southwest of 1-70 Addition Coachlight Lane; and
WHEREAS, Hasu Bhakta and Roger Bhakta, owners of property abutting Coachlight Lane, have
requested that the name of Coachlight Lane be changed to Bhakta Court because the Coachlight Inn and
Restaurant no longer exist; and
WHEREAS,there are no similarly sounding or conflicting street names in the city; and
WHEREAS, no loss or inconvenience to private property owners will be caused by the requested
street name change, SO NOW,THEREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. Amendment. The official street map of the City of Salina, Kansas is amended to change the
name of Coachlight Lane from North Ninth Street to its western terminus to Bhakta Court.
Section 2. Repealer. Ordinance No. 82-8939 is hereby repealed.
Section 3. Recording. For the purposes of recording this ordinance with the office of the Saline County
Register of Deeds, this street name change abuts and relates to Lots 1, 2 and 3, Tract 2, Interstate District
Southwest of 1-70, an addition to the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas and two unplatted tracts located
in the Southeast Quarter of Section 35, Township 13 South, Range 3 West of the 6th Principal Meridian in the
City of Salina. Kansas.
Section 4. Summary of Ordinance for Publication. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption and publication once by summary in the official city newspaper.
