RESOLUTION NUMBER 88-3990
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A CITY COMMISSION LIAISON TO THE
PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD.
WHEREAS, action has been taken by the City Commission, the Board of
Education of USD #305, and the Recreation Commission, initiating approval of an
agreement establishing a recreation division with an existing department of the
City and establishing a Parks and Recreation Advisory Board; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Commission to establish a formal
communication link between the City Commission and the Parks and Recreation
Advisory Board; SO NOW, THEREFORE
Kansas: BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Section 1.
Liaison.
There
is hereby
established a
Parks
and
Recreation Advisory
Board Liaison
( "the
Liaison") to
be appointed
by the
City
Commission from its own membership.
Section 2. Duties and authority. The Liaison shall attend meetings of
the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, may enter into Advisory Board
discussions, but shall not vote on matters under consideration of the Advisory
Board.
Section 3. Term. Following appointment by the City Commission the
Liaison shall serve indefinitely and until such time as his or her successor is
appointed.
Section 4. Effective date. This resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this
15th day of August, 1988.
