RESOLUTION NUMBER 98-5388
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING POLICIES AND PROCEDURES TO
MEET REQUIREMENTS FOR A JUVENILE ACCOUNTABILITY INCENTIVE BLOCK
GRANT.
WHEREAS, on November 23, 1998 the City of Salina, Kansas (the "City") was
notified of an award for a federal block grant for juvenile crime programs; and
WHEREAS, this program, the Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant (the
"JAIBG"), will award $20,401.00 to the City, to be spent over two years; and
WHEREAS, in order to receive these funds for local juvenile justice programs, the
City must form a Juvenile Crime Enforcement Coalition (the "JCEC") to develop the plan for
expenditure of the JAIBG; and
WHEREAS, the City has an existing Community Planning Team for the applicable
judicial district that may serve as the JCEC; and
WHEREAS, the State of Kansas has placed a deadline of December 18, 1998 for the
submission of plans by the JCEC for use of the JAIBG funds. SO NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the Community Planning Team of the Judicial District is designated
has the Juvenile Crime Enforcement Coalition (JCEC) for this Block Grant.
Section 2. That the JCEC shall designate one person to be the contact person for this
Block Grant and designate a fiscal agent, which may be the City of Salina or Saline County.
Section 3. That the City of Salina will provide matching funds to be spent over the
two year period of the grant, as required by the grant.
Section 4. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
adoption.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this 7th day of
December, 1998.
