RESOLUTION NUMBER 98-5389
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A TWO
YEAR CONTRACT WITH CLEAN HARBORS ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES OF
LENEXA, KANSAS FOR THE TRANSPORTATION AND DISPOSAL OF MATERIALS
FROM THE HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE FACILITY IN THE CITY OF
SALINA, KANSAS.
WHEREAS, the current agreement with Philip Environmental of Kansas City, Missouri
expires at the end of 1998; and
WHEREAS, a request for proposals was sent in November 1998 with six (6) companies
responding by submitting a price list; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined the Clean Harbors Environmental Services of Lenexa,
Kansas offered the lowest overall expenses and the Kansas Department of Health and
Environmental confirmed that this is a reputable company that is licensed to operate in the State of
Kansas. SO NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a two year contract with
Clean Harbors Environmental Services of Lenexa, Kansas for the transportation and disposal of
materials from the Household Hazardous Waste Facility in the City of Salina for the various rates
specified in their proposal.
Section 2. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
adoption.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this 7th day of
1998.
