RESOLUTION NUMBER 00-5556
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFERING FOR SALE OF
APPROXIMATELY $780,000 PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF GENERAL OBLIGATION
MUNICIPAL TEMPORARY NOTES, SERIES 2000-1
WHEREAS, the City of Salina, Kansas (the "City") is proceeding with the
following improvements in the City (collectively, the "Project"):
1. Frank Industrial Area Addition
2. Morrison's Addition
3. Replat of Blocks Four (4), Ten (10), Eleven (11) and Twelve
(12), Georgetown Addition
4. Eastview Estates Addition
WHEREAS, the City is authorized to issue its general obligation bonds under the
authority of K.S.A. 10-101 et se—c .. and K.S.A. 12-6a01 el sed. to finance the Project; and
WHEREAS, pending the issuance of the general obligation bonds, the City wishes
to provide temporary financing for the Project through the issuance by the City of its notes (the
"Notes") in the principal amount of $780,000; SO NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED by the governing body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the Finance Director and Acting City Clerk are hereby authorized to
obtain bids for the Notes from prospective purchasers of the Notes and to present the results of such
bids to the governing body of the City for approval in connection with the authorization of the
Notes by the governing body of the City.
Section 2. The City expects to make expenditures on and after the date of this
Resolution in connection with the Project and declares its intention to reimburse itself for such
expenditures with the proceeds of the Notes.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
adoption.
ADOPTED by the governing body of the City of Salina, Kansas this 10th day of
January, 2000.
