AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 14, ARTICLE III, DIVISION 1 OF THE
SALINA CODE BY ADDING A NEW SECTION TO BE NUMBERED 14-3-1-107.2.1
- PERTAINING TO THE REQUIRED ELECTRONIC SUBMITTAL OF ALL FIRE AND
LIFE SAFETY SYSTEM INSPECTION REPORTS TO THE FIRE DEPARTMENT VIA A
THIRD-PARTY ADMINISTRATOR DESIGNATED BY THE CITY, OR VIA AN
ALTERNATIVE METHOD APPROVED BY THE FIRE CHIEF.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:

Section 1. New Section. The Salina Code is amended by adding a new section to Chapter 14,
Article III, Division 1 to be numbered 14-3-1-107.2.1, which section reads as follows:
Sec. 14-3-1-107.2.1. Amendment to Section 107.2.1 of the IFC.
Section 107.2.1 of the IFC is amended to read as follows:
Sec. 107.2.1. Test and inspection records.
Required test and inspection records shall be available to the fire code official at all times or
such records as the fire code official designates shall be filed with the fire code official.
Contractors who perform inspection, testing, or maintenance services on fire and life safety
systems within the jurisdiction are required to electronically submit all compliant and non-
compliant reports to the fire department via a third-party administrator designated by the
city, or via an alternative method approved by the fire chief. Required test and inspection
records shall be submitted within thirty (30) days of testing and inspection. Any data
management fees charged by third party administrators to.process, store and report such
documentation, as approved, shall be the responsibility of the party submitting the report.
Section 2. Effective. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect ninety (90) days after its
adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper by the following summary:
Ordinance No. 19-11005 Summary
On June 24, 2019 the City Commission passed Ordinance No. 19-11005. The
Ordinance amends Chapter 14, Article III, Division 1 of the Salina Code by adding a _
new section to be numbered 14-3-1-107.2.1 pertaining to the required electronic
submittal of all fire and life safety system inspection reports to the fire department
via a third-party administrator designated by the city, or via an alternative method
approved by the fire chief. The ordinance shall be in full force and effect ninety (90)
days after the publication of this summary once in the official city newspaper. A
