A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PREPARATION AND SUBMITTAL OF AN
APPLICATION TO THE KANSAS HOUSING RESOURCES CORPORATION (KHRC)
E FOR THE EMERGENCY SOLUTION GRANT.

WHEREAS, the City of Salina has been the recipient of the Housing and Urban
N Development (HUD) Emergency Solutions Grant funding for the past twenty years, and has
partnered with local agencies to procure grant funding to assist them in providing services for
emergency shelter, homeless prevention, re-housing, and street outreach; and
WHEREAS, the City of Salina has been awarded almost $900,000 in Emergency Solutions
Grant funding over the past ten years; and
WHEREAS, the City of Salina wishes to continue to receive Emergency Solutions Grant
funding and to partner with local agencies to procure grant funding to assist them in providing
services for emergency shelter, homeless prevention, re-housing, and street outreach; and
WHEREAS, the City of Salina works directly with the HUD designated Director of the
Emergency Solutions Grant at the Kansas Housing Resources Corporation (KHRC) and also with
local agencies to assure compliance with the Code of Federal Regulations governing grant funding
and administration; SO NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the city of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes the preparation and submittal an
application to the Kansas Housing Resources Corporation, Director of the Emergency Solution
Grant.
Section 2. The grant will provide services as defined in the Code of Federal Regulations for
the HUD Emergency Solutions Grant, as administered by the Kansas Housing Resources
Corporation.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this 6th day of May, 2019.
