A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN UPDATED AND RESTATED COMMUNITY ART
AND DESIGN POLICY.
WHEREAS,on July 17, 2000 the City Commission adopted Resolution Number 00-5621 establishing
ra a Community Art and Design Program for the City of Salina; and
WHEREAS,on February 12,2007 the City Commission adopted Resolution Number 07-6355 formally
adopting the City of Salina Community Art and Design Policy; and
WHEREAS,on March 5,2007 the City Commission adopted Resolution Number 07-6374 establishing
the Community Art and Design Advisory Committee to aid in the review, oversight, and review of the
Community Art and Design Policy; and
WHEREAS,on April 9, 2012 the City Commission adopted Resolution Number 12-6896 establishing
a Process for Development and Approval of Art Projects Outside the City Salina Capital Improvement
Program as Addendum 1 to the Community Art and Design Policy; and
WHEREAS,the Community Art&Design(CAD)Advisory Committee and Salina Arts&Humanities
Commission have recommended updating the CAD Committee membership matrix; and
WHEREAS,the City of Salina staff desire to make editorial and clarifying changes to the CAD Policy
documents;
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. Approval. The Governing Body approves the Community Art and Design Policy
dated February 11, 2019.
Section 2. Repealer. Resolutions numbered 07-6355, 07-6374, and 12-6896,to the extent they
are incompatible with this Resolution and the Community Art and Design Policy dated February 11,
2019, are repealed.
Section 3. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to file the Community Art and Design Policy
and retain according to the City of Salina Records Management Policy.
Section 4. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this 11th day of February, 2019.
