A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SALINE COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS TO DETERMINE THE ADVISABILITY OF THE ANNEXATION OF A
TRACT OF LAND INTO THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS AND GIVE ITS CONSENT TO
w SUCH ANNEXATION.
z WHEREAS,the City of Salina, owner of the following property,desires to annex that property
into the city of Salina:
The South Water Treatment Plant site, a 43.85 acre tract of land located at the
southeast corner of South Ohio Street and East Water Well Road.
WHEREAS,to facilitate the construction and operation of a new water treatment plant the City is
requesting annexation of said tract of land; and
WHEREAS, the governing body of the City of Salina deems it advisable to annex said tract of
land and extend municipal services thereto; and
WHEREAS, said of land is not contiguous to the city limits of the City of Salina, Kansas; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to K.S.A. 12-520c the governing body of the City of Salina may request
that the Board of County Commissioners of Saline County approve said annexation; SO NOW,
THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas that the Board of
County Commissioners of Saline County, Kansas is hereby requested to find and determine that the
annexation of said tract of land will not hinder or prevent the proper growth and development of the
area or that of any other incorporated city located within Saline County.
Adopted by the Board of City Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this 11 m day of March,
2019.
