ORDINANCE NUMBER 18-10959
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE XIV, CHAPTER 42 OF THE SALINA CODE BY
ADOPTING NEW SECTIONS 42-761.1 and 42-761.2 PERTAINING TO INDOOR AND
OUTDOOR SHOOTING RANGES.
w BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of Salina, Kansas:
ESection 1. New Section. The Salina Code is amended by adding a section to be numbered 42-761.1,
which section reads as follows:

Sec. 42-761.1. Shooting Range, Indoor
A facility designed and used for shooting at targets with rifles, pistols, or shotguns, and which is
completely enclosed within a building or structure.
Section 2. New Section. The Salina Code is amended by adding a section to be numbered 42-761.2,
which section reads as follows:
Sec. 42-761.2. Shooting Range, Outdoor
The use of land for the discharging of firearms for the purpose of target practice, skeet and trap
shooting, military/law enforcement training or temporary competitions.
Section 3. Effective. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and
publication once in the official city newspaper by the following summary:
Ordinance No. 18-10959 Summary
On August 13, 2018, the City Commission passed Ordinance No. 18-10939. The Ordinance
amends Article XIV of Chapter 42 of the Salina Code by adding definitions for indoor shooting
range and outdoor shooting range to the Zoning Ordinance. A complete copy of the Ordinance
