The Salina Public Library Board of Trustees held their monthly
meeting Thursday, January 25, 1996, at 4;~O p.m~ in the Campbell
Room.
The following Board members were present: Roger struble and
Jim Sullivan. Others present were Joe McKenzie and Cynthia Smull.
Roger Struble opened the meeting.
PUBLIC COMMENTS: None
LIBRARIAN'S REPORT: Joe reported on how he would proceed on the
March 1, contract with Blue Cross/Blue Shield. The Library staff
will be moving into the city's Blue Select Group and Delta Dental
Program due to the extremely high cost (33 1/2% increase) to
maintain the comprehensive health plan presently in place.
Roger and Jim discussed the subject with Joe and concurred
with Joe's conclusion of the matter. It is Jim and Roger's opinion
to pay employees single membership as has been done in the past and
provide funding with money saved, by switching to city's Blue
Select Group, to pay a portion of the family membership in the
city's group up to, but not to exceed the budgeted amount for 1996.
ACTION ITEMS: No action was taken on any items. À quorum was not
available so action on business was held over until the February
22, 1996 meeting.
Roger adjourned the meeting.
