ORDINANCE NUMBER 8146

AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, VOLUME V, SIGNS, 1970 EDITION
EXCEPT AS MODIFIED BY ARTICLE IV OF THE SALINA CODE AND REPEALING THE EXISTING SECTION 9-63
OF THE SALINA CODE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the existing Section 9-63 of The Salina Code is hereby amended
to read as follows:
"Section 9-63. Code Adopted.
There is hereby incorporated by reference by the City
for the purpose of establishing rules and regulations for
the construction, alteration, removal, location and maintenance
of signs, including permits and penalties, that certain Uniform
Building Code, Volume V, Signs, 1970 Edition, as recommended
and published by the International Conference of Building
Officials and the whole thereof, and except such portions as
are hereinafter deleted, modified or amended, of which not
less than three copies have been and are now on file in the
Office of the City Clerk and the same are hereby incorporated
as fully as if set out at length herein and the provisions
thereof shall be controlling in the construction and erection
of all signs therein contained within the corporate limits
of the City."
Section 2. That the existing Section 9-63 of The Salina Code is hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper.
