AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE USE OF METALLIC CONDUIT OR METAL RACEWAYS FOR ENCLOSING
ELECTRIC WIRING; AMENDING SECTION 9-185 of THE SALINA CODE AND REPEALING SAID ORIGINAL
SECTION.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:

Section 1. That Section 9-185 of The Salina Code is hereby amended to read
as follows:
"Section 9-185. Conduit or Metal Raceways Required
Approved metallic conduit and approved metal raceways
and no other method shall be used for enclosing all electric
light and power wiring in all buildings or additions thereto
within the fire limits, also in churches, theatres, business
establishments, schools and other places for public gatherings,
garages designed for occupancy of more than two (2) cars,
commercial houses, manufacturing plants of all descriptions
and dwellings designed for occupancy of more than twenty-five
(25) families, and all other office buildings in the City.
Type M 1 cable may be used in locations such as cold storage
areas: Provided however, that approved plastic conduit may
be used by special permission of the electrical inspector
in locations where it is not subject to chaffing or breakage."
Section 2. That Section 9-185 of The Salina Code is hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper.
