80-8818 Est Convention & TourE NUMBER 80-8818 (Pub l i shed i n the Sa l i na Journa l No\/eM V,)ti V� , 1980) AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A CONVENTION AND TOURISM COMMITTEE AND PROVIDING THE PROCEDURE FOR APPOINTMENT THERETO; AMENDING SECTION 32A-13 OF THE SALINA CODE AND REPEALING THE EXISTING SECTION. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That Section 32A-13 of the Salina Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 32A-13. Convention and Tourism Committee. There is hereby established a committee to be known as the "Convention and Tourism Committee" to be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the Board of Commissioners. The committee shall consist of ten (10) members, a majority of which shall be representatives of business coming within the terms of this article. In appointing this committee the Board of Commissioners shall attempt to create a representative balance of large and small business and businesses from the various geographic areas of the city. The Executive Director of the Salina Area Chamber of Commerce shall be an ex -officio member of this committee. Appointments to the committee shall be for terms of four (4) years and until a successor is appointed. The duties of the Convention and Tourism Committee shall be to make recommendations concerning the programs and expenditures for promotion of convention and tourism from the tax collected pursuant to this Article." Section 2. That the existing Section 32A-13 is hereby repealed. Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper. (SEAL) ATTEST: D. L.
