AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE 1970 EDITION OF THE U�IFORM BUILDING CODE AND ALL
APPENDICES AND REPEALING SECTION 9-18 of THE SALINA CODE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That Section 9-18 of The Salina Code is hereby amended to read as
follows:
"Section 9-18. Uniform Building Code Adopted.
There is hereby adopted by reference by the City
for the purpose of establishing rules and regul'Ilations
for the construction, alteration, removal, derrolition,
equipment, use and occupancy, location and maintenance
of building structures, including permits and 'penalties,
that certain building code known as the Uniform Building
Code, recommended and published by the International
Conference of Building Officials, being particularly
the 1970 Edition thereof, including the appendix thereto,
save and except such portions as are hereinafter deleted,
modified or amended, of which not less than three copies
have been and now are filed in the Office of the City
Clerk and the same are hereby incorporated as fully as if
set out in length herein and the provisions thereof shall
be controlling in the construction of all buildings and
structures therein contained within the corporate limits
of the City."
Section 2. That Section 9-18 of The Salina Code is hereby repealed.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and
after its adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper.
