ORDINANCE NUMBER 8045

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 9-27 OF THE SALINA CODE, AND REPEALING THE ORIGINAL
SECTION.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That Section 9-27 of the Salina Code is hereby amended to
read as follows:
"Section 9-27. DESIGN CALCULATIONS; SNOW AND WIND; MATERIALS FOR, DEPTH
OF FOOTINGS AND FOUNDATIONS.
Section 9-27(1). Calculations for design under the
Uniform Building Code shall be computed on the following
basis:
Snow loads - not less than 30 pounds per square foot
Wind loads - not less than 30 pounds per square foot
Section 9-27(2). Footings and foundations, unless otherwise
specifically provided, shall be constructed of masonry
and concrete and shall, in all cases, extend below the
frost line, or to a minimum depth of thirty (30) inches.
Section 2. Section 9-27 of the Salina Code is hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption and publication in the official city newspaper.
