AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 9-25 OF THE SALINA CODE, AND REPEALING THE ORIGINAL
SECTION.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That Section 9-25 of the Salina Code is hereby amended to
read as follows:
"Section 9-25. PERMIT FEES.
Section 9-25(1). No permit, as required by the Building
Code, shall be issued until the fee prescribed in this
article shall have been paid; nor shall an amendment to
a permit be approved until the additional fee, if any,
due to an increase in the estimated cost of the building
or structure, shall have been paid.
Section 9-25(2)(a). For a permit for the construction or
alteration of a building or structure, the fee shall be
computed as follows:
First 10,000 square feet of floor area ..... $0.02 per sq. ft.
Next 10,000 square feet of floor area...... 0.01 per sq. ft.
Per square foot exceeding 20,000........... 0.005
Provided, that there shall be a minimum
building !permit fee of ................... 3.00
Section 9-25(2)(b). For a permit for the remodeling or
repairing of a building or structure where square footage
is not applicable, the fees shall be computed as follows:
j First $1,000.00 or fraction thereof ........ $3.00
For each additional $1,000.00 or fraction
thereof .................................. 1.50
Section 9-25(3). For a permit for the removal of a building
or structure from one lot to another or from without the
city to within the city, the fee shall be one-half (1/2)
of that prescribed above for new construction.

Section 9-25(4). For a permit for the removal of a building
or structure to a new location within the same lot, the
j fee shall be one-half (1/2) of that prescribed above for new
j construction.
j Section 9-25(5). For a permit for the demolition of a
j building or structure, a fee shall be at the rate of one
dollar ($1.00) for each ten (10) feet in the height of such
building or structure plus one per cent (1%) additional
for each foot of street frontage of the building or structure
in excess of fifty (50) feet.
Section 9-25(6). In case of abandonment or discontinuance,
the cost of work performed under a permit may be estimated,
an adjustment of the fee made and the portion of the fee for
uncompleted work returned to the permit holder: Provided,
that no refund of a prescribed minimum fee shall be made.
If such discontinuance is due to revocation of permit, a
similar adjustment and return may be made: Provided, that
no refund shall be made until all penalties incurred or
imposed by due authority have been collected. After such a
refund has been made, no work shall be resumed until a new
application has been made and a new permit has been issued.
Section 2. Section 9-25 of the Salina Code is hereby repealed.

Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption and publication in the official city newspaper.
