A RESOLUTION ENDORSING PARTICIPATION IN THE "MAIN STREET"
PROJECT.
WHEREAS, The Kansas Main Street project has been created to assist
small cities to develop a public - private effort to revitalize their "Main Street"
areas, and five cities will be selected to participate in the project in 1986, anc
WHEREAS, The Kansas Main Street project is of benefit to the overall
economic health of the community, and
WHEREAS, the City of Salina, Kansas agrees to participate in the
development of the local Main Street project with the specific goal of revitalization
of the Central Business District, including the preservation and rehabilitation of
its historic and culturally important buildings, SO NOW, THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas
Section 1. That the City of Salina, Kansas does hereby request its
selection as a participant in the Kansas Main Street Project.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this
23rd day of September, 1985.
