Enclosed for your consideration is a preliminary draft of an ordinance
combining the six building boards and panels--Building Code Jl.dvisory Board,
Building Board of Appeals, Electrical Code Panel, Electrical Board of
Examiners, Board of Plumbing appeals and Board of Plumbing Examiners--into
one. As you are aware, it has been difficult keeping these boards filled,
especially since they meet so infrequently. The Electrical Code Panel, for
example, was last convened in 1974. During all of 1985, the other five boards
met a total of five times. In addition, the adoption of standardized licensing
tests by the 1986 Kansas Legislation makes boards of examiners unnecessary.
Any comments? Thoughts?
The autumn Free Landfill Day takes place this Sunday, October 19. More than

work should start next week on the final alley 6, between Walnut and Ash. The
