A RESOLUTION CHANGING THE NAME OF CERTAIN STREETS
WITHIN THE SCHILLING SUBDIVISION NO. 5 SUBDIVISION IN THE CITY OF
SALINA, KANSAS.
WHEREAS, the final plat of the Schilling Subdivision No. 5 was approved on
August 4, 1998 and recorded on September 16, 1998; and Scanlan Avenue, General Jim Road,
Bailey Road and Bailey Court were shown as named public streets on the recorded plat: and
WHEREAS, the Salina Airport Authority has requested that the name of a portion
of Scanlan Avenue west of Centennial Road, General Jim Road and Bailey Road be changed
from Scanlan Avenue, General Jim Road and Bailey Road to Arnold Avenue to assist travelers
trying to find the MJ Kennedy Airport Terminal at 3237 Arnold Avenue and that the name of
Bailey Court be changed to Bailey Road to allow Vidricksen Distributing Company to retain its
1825 Bailey Road address; and
WHEREAS, there are no similarly sounding or conflicting street names in the
city; and
WHEREAS, no loss or inconvenience to private property owners will be caused
by the requested street name changes. SO NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. The name of Scanlan Avenue between Centennial Road and General
Jim Road in Schilling Subdivision No. 5 shall be changed to Arnold Avenue abutting Lot 1,
Block 2, Lots 1, 5 and 6, Block 3 and Lots 3, 6, 12, and 13, Block 4 in Schilling Subdivision
No. 5 in the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas.
Section 2. The name of General Jim Road between Scanlan Avenue and Arnold
Avenue in Schilling Subdivision No. 5 shall be changed to Arnold Avenue abutting Lots 13,
14, 15 and 16, Block 4 and Lots 1, 2 and 3, Block 6 in Schilling Subdivision No. 5 in the City
of Salina, Saline County, Kansas.
Section 3. The name of Bailey Road between Centennial Road and Arnold
Avenue in Schilling Subdivision No. 5 shall be changed to Arnold Avenue abutting Lots 9, 10,
13. 14, 17 and 18, Block 12, Lot 2, Block 14 and Lots 2 and 3, Block 15 in Schilling
Subdivision No. 5 and Lot 1, Block 1 in Schilling Subdivision No. 8 in the City of Salina,
Saline County. Kansas.
Section 4. The name of Bailey Court south of Bailey Road in Schilling
Subdivision No. 5 shall be changed to Bailey Road abutting Lots 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7, Block 15 in
Schilling Subdivision No. 5 and Lots 1 and 2, Block 1 in Schilling Subdivision No. 8 in the
City of Salina. Saline County, Kansas.
Section 5. The segment of Scanlan Avenue from Centennial Road to south
General Jim Road shall be shown as Arnold Avenue, General Jim Road from Scanlan Avenue
west to Arnold Avenue shall be shown as Arnold Avenue, Bailey Road from Centennial Road
west to Arnold Avenue shall be shown as Arnold Avenue and Bailey Court shall be shown as
w Bailey Road on the Official Street Map of the city.
Section 6. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from its adoption.
Section 7. This resolution shall be filed in the office of the Saline County Register
of Deeds as an amendment to the recorded plats of the Schilling Subdivision No. 5 and
Schilling Subdivision No. 8 Subdivisions.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this 6t° day of
