8463 Est Urban Renewal Agency46 (Published in The Salina Journal I� 1975) AN ORDINANCE DIVESTING THE URBAN RENEWAL AGENCY OF SALINA, KANSAS, OF ALL POWERS PREVIOUSLY CONFERRED UPON IT AND RESTORING SUCH POWERS TO THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS; ABOLISHING THE URBAN RENEWAL AGENCY AS HERETOFORE ESTABLISHED AND REPEALING RESOLUTION NUMBER 2819. WHEREAS, by Resolution Number 2819, adopted by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas, on the 5th day of April, 1965, the City of Salina, Kansas, elected to have its urban renewal project powers exercised by the Urban Renewal Agency of Salina, Kansas; and WHEREAS, the Governing Body now deems that it would be in the best public interest to divest the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Salina, Kansas, of all powers previously conferred upon it by said Resolution and to restore such powers to the Governing Body of said City, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas, by the powers vested in it by K.S.A. 17-4756 (b) (1), hereby divests the Urban Renewal Agency of Salina, Kansas, of all urban renewal project powers previously conferred upon it and hereby restores said urban renewal project powers to the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas, and deems such action to be in the public interest. Section 2. That the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas, shall assume, on behalf of the City of Salina, Kansas, title to all property, real or personal, owned or held by the Urban Renewal Agency, and shall also assume all debts, contracts and obligations lawfully incurred or entered into by the Urban Renewal Agency board during the period such powers were exercised by such agency. Section 3. That the Board of Commissioners of the Urban Renewal Agency is hereby abolished. Section 4. That Resolution Number 2819, dated April 5, 1965, is hereby repealed. Section 5. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after January 5, 1976, and publication in the official city newspaper.
