URBAN RENEWAL CO:-!rclISSION
The Urban Renewal Agency of Salina was formed in April, 1965, with
appointment of the following Urban Renewal Commissioners:
Harold W.
Eagleton, Robert G. Frederick, Paul W. Renich, Mildred Riddle, and Leland
M. srack.
Dr. Renich was elected Chairman; Mr. Srack was elected Vice-Chairman,
and Mr. Eagleton was elected secretary.
The Application for Survey and Planning for the Civic Center Project
was submitted to HHFA on May 3, 1965, and was approved June 30, 1965.
Richard L. Worth was hired as Executive Director, effective August 5,
1965.
A contract for planning services was approved by the Urban Renewal
Agency on september 16, 1965, with Bucher and Willis as contractors.
On September 29 Acquisition and Re-use appraisers were appointed to
perform the first series of appraisals.
October 15 Jerry Goodwin was employed as Relocation Director.
On October 16 a resolution approving the undertaking of surveys and
plans for the Northeast Industrial Park Project was approved.
On November 18 an appraiser was appointed to perform the second
re-use appraisal.
On December 9 a resolution authorizing the filing of Application for
Loan and Grant for the Civic Center Project was approved.
December 16 the appointment of acquisition appraiser for the second
appraisal of the Civic Center Project was authorized.
On December 16 and 17 interviews were conducted for planning consul-
tants for the Northeast Industrial Park Project.
At the meeting of
January 20, 1966, Mr. Worth was authorized to negotiate with Bucher and
Willis for this contract.
